PEC win prestigious Ashden award!

We are proud to share that we have won the 2026 Ashden Award for Local Energy Innovation!
The Ashden Awards celebrate organisations that are helping tackle climate change while making life better for people and communities.
The awards recognise charities, social enterprises and businesses from the UK and around the world.
Accepting the award on behalf of PEC, Advice Lead Clare Mains said:
This award belongs to the whole Plymouth Energy Community family: our partners, our frontline workers, and most of all the communities who place their trust in us every day.
The winners were were revealed in a ceremony at London’s National Gallery on June 18th, featuring keynote speaker Emma Howard Boyd CBE.

"Every day, we have the privilege of working alongside residents and professionals who want the best for Plymouth people.
What we share in common is understanding that local matters, because we can't build a fairer energy system alone. Collaboration is where we make things happen. We're delighted to be recognised by Ashden for the difference we make, and would like to thank them for this opportunity.
All the award winners are helping people by providing clean energy or protecting nature. They are also creating jobs, improving health and helping communities become stronger.
Ashden is a London-based charity. Founded in 2001, its awards and programmes support inclusive climate solutions with economic and social benefits.
