Major milestone as “Walk in” advice Hub launched!
We're excited to have opened our new energy advice Hub on Union Street, so people can access advice and support on anything from energy bills, debt and supplier problems through to impartial guidance on retrofitting their homes.
The new Hub is located in the Genesis Building on Union Street and currently open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
We can provide a wide range of energy advice from the Hub, from queries about bills, supplier issues, energy debt, and advice on risks such as carbon monoxide, through to advice on retrofit and energy efficiency measures for your home.
PEC Advice Lead, Clare Mains said:
“We’re so pleased to be opening the Energy Advice Hub – it’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. We know that getting help can feel overwhelming or too time consuming, so we’ve created a space where people can just pop in, have a cup of tea and a chat face-to-face about anything from bills to retrofitting your home.”
“The Hub is a natural extension of the work we’ve been doing to support residents since 2013. It’s about making energy advice easier to access, in a space that feels homely and human.”
Located on Union Street, at the Genesis Building, the Hub is designed to be a one-of-a-kind space with a quirky, relaxed atmosphere. In line with our environmental values, everything from the chairs to the lampshades have been sourced secondhand or reclaimed.

The Hub was made possible thanks to a grant from Wales and West Utilities. Wales & West Utilities is the gas emergency and pipeline service for Wales and the South West of England. Through their Vulnerable Customer and Communities (VCMA) fund, they support projects that help people in vulnerable situations, especially those struggling with energy affordability, safety, or access to essential services.
Clare added:
“We’re so grateful to Wales & West Utilities and the VCMA fund for helping us bring the Hub to life. Their support means we can offer a warm, welcoming space for anyone who needs to talk about energy – whether they’re in crisis or planning major energy efficiency improvements to their home.”
“We’ve had such generous support from local people and businesses to bring it to life – including B&Q, who helped us track down half a door when we needed one. We can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”
Our Energy Hub is located in the Genesis Building on Union Street and is open Mondays (10am-4pm), Wednesdays (10am-4pm) and Fridays (10am-3pm) – no appointment needed.
