Our PEC Pals volunteers are running their successful 'Ready for Winter' campaign again this autumn and need your help!
What is PEC Pals?
PEC Pals is our volunteer programme bringing people together to make energy advice accessible to their communities and a space to help you release your creativity.
PEC Pals gives you the skills and confidence to help respond to the climate and energy crisis here in Plymouth.
You will have opportunity to develop your understanding and confidence around the challenges facing us and have the space to explore creative solutions for issues in our community, through fun and engaging sessions run by our team. You will also have the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills or share those you already have.
'Get Ready for Winter' 2024 Campaign
Could your skills help people in our community to be ready for winter?
At the moment our Pals are helping vulnerable residents get ready for winter by connecting people and craft groups to knit, sew and craft our way to a warmer winter for everyone.
The energy crisis is making things difficult for people in our communities, and some are having to keep the heating off as it is too expensive to run.
We are bringing crafting groups and people with a passion for crafting together to make things of warmth and beauty – blankets, gloves, hats etc. These will be given out from community hubs when the weather gets colder.
This campaign was successful last year and we are running similar craft activities again this year, working with Community Builders across the city.
